As part of the Artin the Community program, the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Americas(MoCAA) welcomed a group of students from Kingdom Academy, aneducational institution distinguished for its commitment to the holisticformation of children and young people. Its academic model combines rigorousinstruction with Christian values rooted in leadership, excellence, service, and inclusion. Kingdom Academy fosters ethical reflection, community spirit, and global awareness, encouraging its students to become agents of change whounite knowledge and compassion. The school conceives education as acollaborative process between family, teachers, and society—where each child isrecognized for their individuality and creative potential.

The visit offered thechildren an opportunity to enter a visual universe where art becomes bothmemory and dialogue across generations. Many of the works on view were createdby artists who, having left their homeland, transformed displacement into languageand distance into testimony. For the descendants of that very diaspora, encountering these pieces within their own community carries a symbolic meaningthat transcends the aesthetic experience: it reaffirms cultural continuity andhighlights the power of art education as a bridge between identity andunderstanding.
The initiative is partof MoCAA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the connection between art andeducation, creating spaces where young audiences can recognize in contemporaryart a mirror of their history and a tool for interpreting the world aroundthem. In this sense, the museum and the school share a common purpose:nurturing individuals who are sensitive, inquisitive, and capable oftransforming their environment with intelligence and empathy.

Since its founding in1990, Kingdom Academy has cultivated an educational vision that unitesacademic rigor, financial literacy, and spiritual growth, guiding studentstoward a balanced understanding of knowledge, faith, and social responsibility. The school promotes purposeful leadership, cultural awareness, and respect fordiversity, preparing its students to navigate a global society with moralintegrity and a spirit of service.
The Museum ofContemporary Art of the Americas extends its appreciation to the teachersand students of Kingdom Academy and celebrates this meeting ofgenerations, values, and visions—reminding us that art, like education, isalways an act of faith in the future.
