The Museum of Contemporary Art of the Americas (MoCAA), based in Kendall, Miami, is pleased to announce the appointment of Suzzete Rodríguez as Co-Curator for Europe. A distinguished cultural promoter and gallerist, Rodríguez brings with her an extensive international trajectory in curatorial practice and cultural management.
Her journey in the arts began in November 2008, when she curated her first exhibition at the Simonsbaken Gallery in Sandnes, Norway. Since then, she has developed a truly global presence, curating projects at the Art Shanghai and Shanghai Art Fair in China with two dedicated stands for Cuban artists, and later directing initiatives across Malaysia, beginning at the Balai Seni Lukis Negara in Kuala Lumpur. In Europe, she has curated exhibitions at The Sandy Browns Gallery in Berlin and at the Miami Hispanic Cultural Arts Center.
Since 2019, Rodríguez has been actively engaged with the Venice Biennale, first presenting thirty Cuban artists at Palazzo Cenobio and subsequently collaborating with international artists at Palazzo Pisani Revedin. Her curatorial work has extended to prominent Italian institutions, including the Fondazione Venanzo Crocetti Museum in Rome, and to the International Biarco Biennial in Colombia. Most recently, she inaugurated a project during the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, Italy, and initiated her involvement in the Spanish art scene with an exhibition at Vearte Gallery in Alicante.
At MoCAA, Rodríguez will be entrusted with expanding the museum’s collection into the European sphere, establishing collaborations with museums, foundations, and international biennials, and ensuring that the work of MoCAA artists gains visibility and legitimacy on a global stage.
“It is a great honor to serve as Co-Curator of MoCAA’s collection in Europe. We will present the works of our artists in museums, foundations, and international biennials, in spaces where this collection will continue to be legitimized within the European context. I am deeply grateful to the MoCAA staff for making this collaboration possible,” Rodríguez stated.
With her appointment, MoCAA strengthens its international mission and reaffirms its commitment to cultural exchange between the Americas and Europe, consolidating its role as a vital platform for contemporary art.
