As part of the ART IN THE COMMUNITY programs, Kendall Art Center will present “Family Ties” Two histories where parents and children have given their energies completely to this vocation, different generations and ways of seeing and expressing, but the same passion and dedication. In a country of diversity, these two unique families raised their children under very different environments and had very different experiences and paths themselves that in the end, always leads to art.
As part of the WOMAN IN THE ARTS program, Kendall Art Center will present “Women Artists in the Collection,” a selection of contemporary artworks by female artists of the community. This exhibition, curated and moderated by Yuneikys Villalonga, will highlight the tremendous diversity in the Miami Metro area and explore the vibrant artistic energy of women artists from many cultural backgrounds.
Kendall Art Center in collaboration with Florida International University and Miami International University of Art & Design will present “Master of Fine Arts” with the aim to promote and launches graduate's student into the contemporary art community. An annual exhibition that allows the Kendall Art Center to celebrate the achievements of the graduating students in the MFA program in local universities. Curated by recent graduates of curatorial studies and museum practices.

The National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts (NCECA) is a dynamic, non-profit organization that fosters and maintains a community of ceramic art, teaching, and learning. In addition to deepening knowledge within the field, NCECA expands it by working to cultivate the next generation of ceramic artists and enthusiasts through programming that affects professional artists, K-12 schools, community centers, universities, museums, galleries, businesses, organizations, collectors, and ceramic art enthusiasts. Currently comprising approximately 4,000 members from the United States and more than 20 foreign countries, NCECA reaches thousands of additional people each year through its programs, publications, events, exhibitions, and resources.
The annual NCECA conference features dozens of presenters, demonstrations, networking opportunities, and exhibitions over three and a half days each spring in a different city in the United States every year. The NCECA Board of Directors and Special Appointees review hundreds of session and exhibition proposals collected through open calls for presentations. NCECA-sponsored exhibitions include the NCECA Annual, the Multicultural Fellowship Exhibition, and the NCECA Juried Student Exhibition. In conjunction with NCECA-sponsored exhibitions, the organization also reviews, selects, and promotes nearly 100 concurrent exhibitions in the host region around the annual conference.
Currently, Cincinnati is home to a vibrant creative community of artists, many of whom work with clay. Collectively and individually, they get their hands dirty and shape new worlds. The region's first peoples, belonging to the Eastern Woodlands Indian tribes, revered their ancestors by moving tons of earth great distances to form enormous mounds. In the early 19th century, dozens of brick makers and artisans produced building materials from the clay-rich plains bordering Mill Creek in their own backyards. Later, ceramic artists like Maria Longworth Storer founded Rookwood Pottery after discovering that Ohio Valley clays rivaled those used in the world's finest ceramics.
The Annex Gallery, run by photographer and cultural promoter Jens G. Rosenkrantz, is located within the Pendleton Art Center in the Annex Building. It has 4,000 square feet where it hosts timely and socially relevant exhibitions of local and international artists. Since 2017, they have maintained a vibrant exchange project with Cuban artists, and many of them have exhibited at the gallery in recent years. Now, in collaboration with MoCA-Americas, they will exhibit the UNLIKELY ASSEMBLAGES show, which presents the work of significant ceramicists from southern Florida and a significant portion of their ceramic plate collection. This collection, currently consisting only of works by artists from the island, is considered the largest of its kind in the United States. Works by Ivonne Ferrer, Milena Martinez Pedrosa, Carlos Prado, Ciro Quintana, and others will be on display.
NCECA's 57th Annual Conference, Current, will take place in Cincinnati, Ohio, from March 15 to 18, 2023, at the Duke Energy Convention Center, located at 525 Elm St, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
The Kendall Art Cultural Center (KACC), dedicated the past six years to the preservation and promotion of contemporary art and artists, and to the exchange of art and ideas throughout Miami and South Florida, as well as abroad. Through an energetic calendar of exhibitions, programs, and its collections, KACC provides an international platform for the work of established and emerging artists, advancing public appreciation and understanding of contemporary art.
