The Garden of Early Delights Closing Event

Thirteen dancers from Area Stage’s Inspire Theatre Project (ITP) are part of the closing ceremony of The Garden of Early Delights, hosted by The Museum of Contemporary American Art (MOCAA), celebrating inclusion and diversity while reaffirming a strong commitment to promoting art accessibility for all artists. The event will take place on February 27 at 7:00 PM.

With choreography by Nicole Becker, the Area Stage ITP ensemble immerses the audience in fantasy, symbolism, and the essence of humanity, inspired by the work of Hieronymus Bosch and influenced by contemporary visual artists Maggie Pernas and Carlos Sanjurjo featured in the exhibition.

Directed by Irma Becker, these dedicated neurodiverse dancers bring every image to life through movement, reminding us that only the human spirit has the power to transform imagination into living art.

Founded in 2014 by Executive Director Maria Banda-Rodaz, ITP is a one-of-a-kind theater training program designed to empower students with developmental and intellectual disabilities. It offers a specially designed, professional-level curriculum that fosters artistic excellence, confidence, independence, and meaningful creative expression.

Area Stage is an award-winning theatre organization that offers world-class professional productions and a vibrant conservatory program.
