Two of the artists included in the group exhibition «Colección MoCAA en Yucatán», master painter Arturo Montoto and printmaker and leader of the Praxis Havana graphic project, Enrique Miralles (Tente), took part in a guided tour with students from the art program of the School of Architecture, Habitat, Art and Design of UADY.

This activity is part of the program of professional exchanges that the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Americas (MoCAA) has begun to develop with the School of Architecture, Habitat, Art and Design of UADY, which had its beginnings during the tribute activities for the 53rd anniversary of this important academic institution, held during the months of September and October in Mérida, Yucatán.

During the meeting, both creators spoke about their respective careers and about the conceptual and technical foundations they have upheld throughout their careers. Likewise, they provided important information and insights on the quality of the artistic and historical holdings that underpin MoCAA’s Rodríguez Collection, of which they are already part, and which is widely represented in the curatorial project of this exhibition. Its organization involved Ivonne Ferrer and Leonardo Rodríguez, directors of MoCAA, as well as Cuban curator and art critic David Mateo.

The UADY students also took the opportunity to ask Montoto and Tente questions related to the creative fields and processes both have explored, and asked the artists for advice and suggestions that could prove useful for their current path as students and for their future development within the art circuit.
