São Paulo, Brazil — July 14, 2026. Representatives of the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Americas (MoCAA) and Instituto Cultural Urukum formally presented the documentary catalog of Caminhos de Terra e Vento / Paths of Earth and Wind to the leadership of Instituto Cervantes São Paulo during an institutional meeting held today at its Avenida Paulista location.
The presentation brought together Leonardo Rodríguez, Founder, Board President, and Director General of MoCAA; Ivonne Ferrer, Deputy Director of the museum; Brazilian artist Gerson Fogaça; and Malu da Cunha, Director of Instituto Cultural Urukum. Their presence reflected the shared nature of the project and the sustained cooperation that made the exhibition possible.
Presented in 2025 at Vila Cultural Cora Coralina in Goiânia, Paths of Earth and Wind was conceived by Instituto Cultural Urukum in partnership with MoCAA. The exhibition brought together more than one hundred works by over ninety artists, establishing a broad dialogue between the artistic landscape of Goiás and the Caribbean and diasporic perspectives represented in the Rodríguez Collection.
The catalog preserves the exhibition’s visual and documentary record while extending its reach beyond the original venue. More than a record of completed events, the publication reflects a collaborative process shaped by curatorial exchange, institutional trust, and a shared commitment to connecting artistic communities across geographic and cultural boundaries.
Its presentation to Instituto Cervantes São Paulo took place within the context of the opening of Territorios de Encuentro, a new exhibition that continues the dialogue between MoCAA and cultural partners in Brazil. The occasion provided an opportunity to share the history of Paths of Earth and Wind with an institution that has played an important role in supporting intercultural exchange and the international circulation of contemporary art.
Through this gesture, MoCAA and Instituto Cultural Urukum reaffirmed the importance of publications as instruments of cultural memory. The catalog allows the exhibition to remain accessible beyond its physical duration, preserving the voices, works, and institutional relationships that gave form to one of the most ambitious collaborations developed between Miami and Goiás in recent years.
The meeting also strengthened the relationship among MoCAA, Instituto Cultural Urukum, and Instituto Cervantes São Paulo, opening further possibilities for exhibitions, research, publications, and artistic exchange across the Americas and the broader Ibero-American cultural sphere.
