Two MoCAA Exhibitions to Join UADY’s 53rd Anniversary Program in Mérida

Architect David Reynaldo Alcocer, director of the Faculty of Architecture, Habitat and Design at UADY in Mérida, welcomed Leonardo Rodríguez, founder and owner of the Museum of Contemporary Art of the Americas (MoCAA), and Ivonne Ferrer, director of the Florida-based museum, to finalize details for two exhibitions that will soon travel to the state of Yucatán.

Both exhibitions will be part of the program of activities to be held in September in celebration of the 53rd anniversary of this important academic institution.

Also participating in the meeting were art critic, curator, and director of Artcrónica, David Mateo, and printmaker Enrique Miralles (Tente), leader of the Praxis Havana project, who serve as general coordinators of this cultural exchange program.

In its first stage, the initiative includes the presentation of a representative exhibition from MoCAA’s Cuban art collection at the Museum of the City of Mérida, as well as a solo exhibition by artist Ivonne Ferrer at the gallery of the Faculty of Architecture.

Professors Taimy Pérez and Javier Barrera were also present on behalf of UADY. Cuban photographer Belkis Martín Pérez attended as a member of the Artcrónica working team.
